MGySgt Charles "Chunks" Padilla USMC (ret.) FRA# 1894

MGySgt Padilla and his family lost their home and all their belongings in the Mountain View wild fire near the Marine Corps Mountains Warfare Training Center at Bridgeport, California on Friday November 20, 2020.

MGySgt Padilla retired from the Marine Corps after serving 29 years. He served in the units depicted by the emblems above, as well as the Basic Reconnaissance Course and two Marine battalions. After retiring, MGySgt Padilla began a second, amazing career as a participant in fundraising events to support multiple "wounded warrior" charities, including the Semper Fi Fund and the Marine Reconnaissance Foundation. Just before retiring, MGySgt Padilla introduced the world to his second career when he and 5 British Royal Marines ran 3530 miles, across America, in "The Gumpathon".

Like Gump, MGySgt Padilla kept running, but for the most helpful of reasons. Now, he could use some help from us.
